Why Avelo revolutionizes diving
Nothing compares to the sensation of hovering effortlessly underwater. Our scuba tribe cares deeply for the underwater environment. We want our tribe to grow and prosper, because this environment needs a lot more caring. To achieve that goal, we must modernize scuba gear.
Divers carry an average 70 lbs / 32 kg of scuba gear or more. It's beyond uncomfortable and can become dangerous on unstable boats and wavy shores. It is needlessly debilitating.
To achieve neutral buoyancy with today's gear, a BCD is used to create a bubble underwater that changes its volume as you either add or subtract air. However, since this bubble is ultra-sensitive to depth changes, it changes buoyancy quickly when you ascend and descend. This creates an unstable form of neutral buoyancy, which compromises safety and causes problems such as uncontrolled ascents.
Our lightweight scuba system stays neutrally buoyant regardless of how much you ascend or descend. We have no depth-sensitive bubble on our back. Instead, we "borrow" water weight from the ocean. This concept provides a very stable form of neutral buoyancy, which leads to longer dives for any diver. New divers can hover in the water like pros and professional divers can accomplish their tasks much more efficiently. Technical divers will enjoy considerable weight reduction and additional streamlining. Our system helps divers focus on what we love about diving.

Our specialty course, Recreational Avelo Diver (RAD) teaches everything you need to know to dive with the Avelo System. You'll learn how to control buoyancy with water instead of air, reduce task load, and dive with greater stability and ease. With online learning and two guided dives, this specialty course builds confidence and helps you get the most out of every dive. Available at Avelo Dive Centers worldwide.

eLearning (1-2 hours)
Build on your existing dive knowledge with focused lessons designed specifically for the Avelo System. This session introduces the science behind water-based buoyancy and shows how diving Avelo can reduce task load, enhance safety, and transform the dive experience, no matter your certification level.
Once completed, you'll have 90 days to finish your in-water training at any Avelo Dive Center. Need more time? Simply retake the quizzes to refresh your knowledge and extend your access.
In-water session (2 dives)
Complete two dives with an Avelo-certified instructor and practice the skills you need to dive safely and confidently with the Avelo System. Your instructor will certify you once all standards are met.
AVELO pro course
Become an Avelo Instructor and lead the next generation of divers. This course prepares dive professionals to teach the Recreational Avelo Diver (RAD) specialty and deliver safe, engaging Avelo training at their dive center.
AVELO technician
Gain the skills to service and support the Avelo System. This course trains you to inspect, maintain, and repair both the Hydrotank and Jetpack, ensuring optimal performance and reliability in your dive center operations.
